Fun in the Sun

The good weather seems to have finally arrived. Five days ago it snowed, and I was beginning to wonder if winter would last into May. We had a good day outside and began the day watching Tahlia score six goals in her soccer game. She has finally learned the key is to score not knock people over, and kick the ball out of bounds. After the game we bought some plants and trees and went to work in the yard. Below you can see Mikaela helping me dig a hole. She is a hard worker and truly my little buddy. We are truly blessed to have kids that desire to spend time with us, even in the midst of hard labor!

Happy Easter

Happy Easter to all of our friends and family. We just wanted to share a sweet moment we experienced with Tahlia at our Good Friday church service. We allowed Tahlia to color several pictures duing the service, and at some point after she finished the pre-printed pictures she turned the page over and drew an original. The drawing is below.

Ashley was sitting next to her and observed she was beginning to cry. She looked at the picture and saw Tahlia had drawn a picture of the crucifixion of Christ. Below you can see a rough drawing of Christ on the cross, with a crown of thorns, and a sad face.

When Ashley asked if the girl next to the cross was Mary, Tahlia said "no, it is me." Ashley asked her why she was crying, and she replied "because He had to die." Ashley then was able to talk to her about her sins and how Jesus was grieved over our sins, but He loved us so much He gave His life up for us. Ashley continued by sharing many elements within the gospel of Christ. Tahlia's rendering of herself at the foot of the cross is below.

What amazed is about the drawings was the emotion she drew. This was the first time she had ever drawn a person with emotion. Obviously, she was paying attention to what our pastor was saying and what the choir was singing. What a blessing to see the Spirit work in her life, and convict her of her sin. We praise God for the wonderful gift of His Son on the cross, and the hope we have through His resurrection (1 Cor. 15; 1 Pet. 1). We also praise God for children who have sensitive hearts. Happy Easter! He is risen! He is risen indeed!

Three Months Old Already!

It is amazing three months has already passed since the boys arrived. We are loving every minute of the twins experience. I am amazed at how quickly the kiddos change and although we love the infant stage we are very anxious for all the future events like conversations, playing games, wrestling, etc. Enjoy the pics and take note of the "USC" ball. The boys are already playing for a winning team!

First Blog Post, First Soccer Game

We are entering the blogosphere and I figured what better way to start then by writing about Tahlia's first soccer game! We remember playing ourselves and it was surreal watching our firstborn begin her years of sport (if you don't count swimming, and I DON'T!). She actually has some mad skills, and after watching her I think she would hold her own in a pee wee football league. Even with all that aggressiveness she somehow manages to keep her princess like manners! Lastly, in case you were wondering about the background in the title bar, yes that is where we live - we are very blessed to see this scenery almost daily!
